This additional revenue would be used to separate tramadol 100 tablet sewer overflows. Water rates are not affected by the EPA’s order. A tramadol 100 tablet sewer overflow is where the storm and sanitary sewer lines are contained in the same pipe, which can lead to contamination of storm water during even light rainfall. This contaminated water is then discharged into waterways, primarily the Ohio River. After learning of the EPA order during a Monday meeting, Wheeling’s Public Works Committee approved a long term plan detailing just how the city will proceed with projects to separate tramadol 100 tablet sewer overflows throughout town. The plan includes separation projects totaling more than $34 million, as well as a timeline to steadily increase wastewater rates over the next eight years to come in line with federal mandates. Once the plan is finalized it will be sent to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection for approval. City Manager Robert Herron believes the DEP will negotiate the rate increase down. Among those present at the committee meeting were Herron, Mayor Nick Sparachane, Public Works Director Russell Jebbia and all members of Wheeling City Council. Herron told the committee the U.S. EPA has informed local municipalities that prior long term plans to deal with CSOs “were no longer acceptable” and new plans had to be developed. Wheeling officials have until the end of this month to submit their plan. Hundreds of millions of dollars would be needed to separate all of the tramadol 100 tablet sewer lines in town. Herron, however, said the city will concentrate only on “capital projects” totaling $34.3 million. The state DEP looks at a community’s average household income when determining what wastewater rates should be set at, Herron added, and it recommends the rate be at 1.5 percent of the average household income. Wheeling’s wastewater rates are actually at 0.7 percent of that mark, Herron said. As such, complying with regulations could double the cost for water customers. “Our argument is that Wheeling could not physically do any more projects than those we are proposing,” he added. “We could not do more than the $34 million in projects over the next eight years.” The larger projects being proposed by city officials include sewer separations in Dimmeydale, Oakmont through Greenwood, in the 45th Street area of South Wheeling, at Little Wheeling Creek and in the Caldwell Run areas.
